Just wondering if it's like a remake of Dragon Ball Z with the same episode, but they broke it to replace important things like Goku vs. Freza.

It's the same Dragon Ball Z, the same episode, only in HD (I think) looks better than the color fair and it has blood and disgrace in it. In the English version, they have to cut these pieces.

Yes, DBZ Kai and DBZ are somewhat similar. There are numerous costs involved. Part of that filling is the huge characters that have the power of recap as well as a single episode. Too many burdens were too much. Like Goku and Piccolo who took a test drive to get their driver's license.

This is a revised and improved version of the original DBZ series with new animation sequences and improved effects for DBZ's 20th anniversary, all turned into one.

Many animations have been reworked since the original sketch was destroyed years ago, and parts have been recreated as CG animations.
